Applications are open for a full-time media adviser role based in Western Sydney.
Applicants for this position should possess:

experience as a media adviser, in the field of journalism and/or in a communications focussed role;


strong analytical and communications skills;


demonstrated social media management skills;


strong research and writing capabilities, including speechwriting;


the ability to work well in a team;


budget management skills; and,


extensive knowledge of the media landscape and processes.

Knowledge of government and parliamentary processes would be an advantage, along with experience managing economic, finance or tech sector issues.
The media adviser role is classified as an EOB position, offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 with conditions outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2012-2015.
A salary within the range $60,954 $72,095 pa will be determined commensurate with relevant skills and experience. In addition, an allowance of $15,191pa is payable in lieu of additional hours necessary.
A probationary period of three months will apply.
