Doonsides Eagle RAPS was awarded funding through Chifleys Stronger Community Grants Programme to help the group make upgrades to their facilities and continue their remarkable work in our local area.
Federal MP Ed Husic announced Eagle RAPS successful application for $6,500 yesterday at the groups fundraising dinner with special guest and local hero 2015 International V8 Supercars Champion Mark Winterbottom.
While the Turnbull Governments funding cuts have put pressure on Eagle RAPS, it was terrific that the Chifley Strong Communities Program could support this vital group, Mr Husic said.
Since 2002, Eagles RAPS has dedicated their time and resources to the prevention of youth suicide and have undertaken incredible work in the personal development and growth of our local young people.
They have a long history in our area and have worked hard to create programs that cater to our local residents needs.
This grant will go towards Eagle RAPS Youth Centre Upgrade Project, which will contribute to the fit-out for their education and vocation programmes at the Youth Centre.
This grants programme was created to assist local groups expand their facilities and programs so they can continue to enact positive change in our local area and surrounding communities.
Its fantastic to see funding go towards such a worthwhile organisation.
