Federal Member for Chifley Ed Husic has welcomed the return of great coffee to the Mt Druitt Hub powered by a great cause.
The Police and Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) and Mt Druitt TAFE have teamed up to bring to life the Citizens Caf, officially opened in Dawson Mall yesterday.
The Caf is located within Blacktown Councils Mount Druitt Hub and it will not only provide food and hospitality to locals but it will also be a job training platform for local youth.
Both the PCYC and TAFE have a terrific individual impact in our area, Mr Husic said.
But now theyre teaming up to deliver a top service and a great future for young people locally.
The on-the-job training young people will get here, combined with the lessons at TAFE, will help generate the skills needed by many small businesses in our area.
The trainees will also get the chance to run the Caf and see what its like to operate a small business in high demand.
Besides congratulating PCYC and Mt Druitt TAFE for opening the Citizens Cafe, Id like to thank them for the faith and commitment to our areas future generations, Mr Husic said.
